The most serious money laundering charges were dropped against the Infanta Cristina of Bourbon.

His indictment for tax evasion instead been held by the court in Palma de Mallorca.

The sister of King Philip VI is involved in an investigation into the activities of her husband, Inaki Urdangarin, former handball champion. The latter is accused of embezzling millions of euros of public money through a foundation that won government contracts for the organization of conferences on sport and the economy.

It is now up to the investigating judge Jose Castro to decide whether to refer the Infanta Cristina in court, which would be unprecedented in the history of the Spanish monarchy.
