Detained for two years by the North Korean regime, the American Kenneth Bae has been released and trod American soil yesterday in Washington State. Unusually, the director of US intelligence came in person to pick and Matthew Todd Miller, another fellow who remained, her seven months in a North Korean prison.
Both releases come two weeks after the surprise of American Jeffrey Fowle. There are now officially more Americans prisoners in North Korea.
"I just want to say thank you to all those who supported me and who have not forgotten me, said Kenneth Bae. At the same time, I do not forget the people of North Korea. And thank you for supporting my family. "
Kenneth Bae, a missionary evangelist, was arrested in November 2012. Accused of trying to overthrow the government, he was sentenced to 15 years hard labor. Miller, who had torn his visa and applied for asylum with the communist regime, was sentenced to six years hard labor.
