The Crans Montana Forum attracts 800 people in Western Sahara

The Crans Montana Forum, an international organization based in Monaco, is involved in the promotion of international cooperation and economic and social growth for thirty years. It held its annual session of March 12 to 14 in the city of Dakhla, Western Sahara, a territory administered de facto by Morocco since 1975.

The Swiss Jean-Paul Carteron chairs the Forum, he wanted to put a spotlight on the situation of young people in Africa.

The controversy regarding the choice of Dakhla has contributed to the visibility of this event: 800 participants from 115 countries were meeting, including former prime ministers Dominique de Villepin as the Spaniard José Zapatero or manual.

The UN was represented by Philipe Douste-Blazy in his capacity as United Nations Secretary-General on innovative sources of development finance.
