John Kerry is an act of "senseless brutality." An official visit to London, the chief US diplomat called on the Palestinian leadership to condemn the attack, the deadliest in years in the Holy City: "This kind of act is the result of incitement, irresponsibility, calls for days of rage, this is unacceptable. The Palestinian Authority must condemn this act, it must start taking serious steps to prevent any form of incitement when it speaks or when others speak. It should show the kind of leadership needed to put this region on a different path. "
He added that violence has no place. Commitments have indeed been taken last week to lower tensions in East Jerusalem. This is where lies the Temple Mount, a holy place for Palestinians denounced as a provocation the presence of extremist Jews.
