In the world, they are all "Charlie"

"They were trying to show that it is important to be free, to laugh about everything"

The mobilization of French is an "extraordinary" response, said this morning the Prime Minister Manuel Valls. More touching perhaps that of other citizens. Last night spontaneous rallies were held in several capitals, like here in Brussels.

"Today is a milestone, my heart is bleeding, because these people were brave and I admire them for what they did because they knew the risks they were taking the risk, they are freedom fighters."

Trafalgar Square, London. "I'm Charlie" flourishes here too ... People in tears.

"The message they were trying to get across was never against Islam and other religions, I mean they were targeting everyone. They were trying to show that it is important to be free, to laugh about it. "

Even emotion and unity in Berlin, around the embassy of France:

"It's a horrible attack. I hope that journalists and the press will continue their work. I hope the media will remain critical and neutral. I'm really shocked. "

Here in Madrid, but also outside the embassy of France that hundreds of people came to express their support:

"Regardless of the isolated and terrible event we have just experienced, this is proof that we must fight terror and away we live because of extremism, whatever the origin or color. "

Braving temperatures below 20 degrees, several hundred people gathered as here in New York, but Washington and Canada to denounce the attack against Charlie Hebdo and defend the freedom of the press. Flags were flown at half mast on several public buildings as mayor of Montreal or Quebec National Assembly.
