Suspected coup attempt, the Mayor of Caracas Antonio Ledezma was arrested yesterday by the intelligence services. His supporters denounce an authoritarian government act. The arrest was conducted in the offices of Mayor forceful way according to witnesses. Intelligence agents beat him.
This is a blow to the opposition. It comes a year after the start of major demonstrations against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro who reiterated yesterday his accusations that the opposition had plotted a coup with the support of the United States.
