Iranians celebrated in the streets for the second straight day the compromise reached Thursday in Lausanne on their nuclear program. They welcome the recognition of the right of Iran to enrich uranium on its soil, and is now looking forward to the lifting of international sanctions.
Symbolically, it is also the end of the isolation of Iran on the international diplomatic stage. But the conclusion of a final agreement may take longer.
In the US, the Republicans in Congress will do everything to bypass negotiations.
"We have made clear our position. The lifting of sanctions should be progressive. You've probably seen us how this could work. The sanctions will be lifted if we can verify that Iran meet its obligations. In these negotiations, our line never moved, "said Marie Harf, spokesperson of the Secretary of State.
US Republicans are calling for the abandonment of any enrichment, transparency on Iran's military programs and the closure of Fordo.
The Iranian president has promised to honor the commitments made by his country, provided that the major powers to do the same.
