Panic scene last night at the international airport of New Orleans in the United States. A man sprayed a transport agent with anti-wasp bomb in a passport control area. He then pulled out a machete from his pants and assaulted two other agents. A police intervened and fired several bullets on the individual.
'The police officer approached the man with the machete. He fired three shots. A bullet hit him in the left chest, another in the face and the last in the left thigh, '' said Newell Normand, the sheriff of Jefferson Parish.
The individual has been identified as a taxi driver aged about sixty years. He was taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery. It is unclear if he survived. The reasons for his actions remain, for now, unknown.
The health status of the three officers attacked in the evening did not inspire any concern.
