In front of the Parliament in Budapest, they were tens of thousands gathered against the policies of Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
This is the fifth major event held in the country for three weeks. Initially, the mobilization was a proposed tax on Internet downloads and corruption after several officials denied entry to the United States for alleged acts of wrongdoing.
"Corruption is widespread in Hungary, and it is impossible to have a decent standard of living. In recent years - as we heard in the speeches - many terrible things happened and the country has taken a wrong path, "said a protester.
"I worked 42 years, I do not know what unemployment. But now I see it everywhere and my grandchildren tell me they do not have work. So you have to show, it is necessary that the poor earn their living, "says a pensioner.
After the huge demonstrations in October, the government abandoned its proposed internet tax. But the director of the tax department, accused of corruption has not resigned.
After the rally yesterday, some skirmishes took place with the police.
"Just when this event took place in Budapest, others were held across the country and in European capitals, on the initiative of Hungarian expatriates," says Andrea Hajagos, our correspondent in Budapest.
