France: wave custody in the middle of the French professional football

Two cases collide Tuesday morning in France in the world of professional football.

The first key Olympique de Marseille as part of a judicial investigation against X for "extortion, money laundering and criminal conspiracy," to the detriment of several nightclubs Aix-en-Provence opened in 2013.

President of OM, Vincent Labrune, its CEO Philippe Perez and former club Marseille leaders, including Jean-Claude Dassier and Pape Diouf, were arrested and placed in custody.

In a series of searches conducted in January 2013 at the training center, investigators from the Central Office for the fight against organized crime had then seized documents relating to the transfer of players. They suspect the club to pay kickbacks to people close to the great Corsican crime during these transfers, including that of international Andre-Pierre Gignac.

The other issue relates to suspicions of match-fixing in Ligue 2. Nine people, including the presidents of the clubs Nimes and Caen (Calvados), were arrested this morning.

Investigators suspect them of having arranged at the end of last season to make their teams draw and Nîmes is maintained in Ligue 2 according to information from our colleagues in Paris and point confirmed by AFP. The club Caen, meanwhile, made his ascent in Ligue 1.

Those arrested and placed in custody are also coaches and reputable intermediaries, according to Le Point.
