Romania: second round of presidential elections

Who will be the new president of Romania?

Victor Ponta Iohannis or Klaus?

Outgoing Prime Minister or his opponent center-right after a German minority?

If the Social Democrat Victor Ponta is favored election, a high turnout could change the situation.

In the first round of presidential elections, the Romanian diaspora has been under-represented: only 160,000 voters cast about 3 million Romanians abroad. A debacle blamed on logistical problems which cost her position in the Romanian foreign minister.

On Friday, thousands of Romanians protested, calling for a "free" vote.

There are 5 years, the voices of the diaspora, not insignificant in a country of 20 million people, had tipped the balance in favor of right-wing President Traian Basescu.
