This is a first in the history of space and a major success for ESA, the European Space Agency. Philae the robot successfully landed on the nucleus of comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko. "We are on the comet", "we are very pleased," said Andrea Accomazzo, flight director for the Rosetta mission of the European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany, under applause. The mission of the robot lab to take samples which will provide information on the origins of the solar system, or even the appearance of water and life on Earth.
