Greece: the skeleton of Amphipolis tomb unearthed

Based in the largest ancient tomb ever found in Greece? A mystery that will try to break the archaeologists who have finally found the skeleton of this extraordinary tomb located Amphipolis, Macedonia, a tumulus 500 meters in circumference where excavations have been going on for three months now. The only certainty is the death was a powerful personality. It could be a companion and general of Alexander the Great and even his wife or his mother.

As to the progress of the excavation findings were numerous: two sphinxes, a mosaic floor, columns carved capitals with two caryatids of more than two meters high.

Despite the hopes of some, the chance that the tomb is that of Alexander himself seem almost zero, according to experts. At his death at age 32 in Babylon, his body was buried in Alexandria, Egypt, although no excavation has never confirmed this scenario.
