Italy: New floods submerged Carrara


Italy is gradually recovering heavy rains that fell Wednesday on the north and center of the country. Tuscany, Liguria, Veneto were particularly affected.


These images were shot in the town of Carrara, Tuscany. Hundreds of people were evacuated from their homes.


On Thursday, the storm warning for the more southern regions of the peninsula. Rome is particularly alert. As a precaution, schools in the capital have been instructed to keep closed doors.


The agricultural sector is particularly affected by these new elements. Last month already, heavy rains had caused major damage and one death in Genoa. Farmers' associations are sounding an alarm. According to them, since the beginning of the year, the bad weather has already cost the industry one billion euros.
