Shooting in eastern Saudi Arabia: Shiites killed at least 5


In Saudi Arabia, at least five people were killed in a shootout. There are also a dozen wounded. It happened Monday night at the output of a Shia place of worship.


The shooting took place in the village of Al-Dalouah, in eastern Saudi Arabia, a region where many Shiite Muslims live, while the rest of the country with strong Sunni majority.


Faithful gathered to mark Ashura, a holiday celebrated by the Shia community worldwide celebration. According to authorities, three hooded men arrived by car and opened fire on the crowd.


Police cordoned off the area. A spokesman for the Interior Ministry says that six people were arrested.
