Libya: 13 killed in fighting in Benghazi between the army and Islamists


Heavy fighting erupted again on Monday in Benghazi, Libya, near the port area. At least 13 people were killed and Red Crescent had to evacuate 53 aid workers and 14 were wounded in a hospital near the airport.


For fifteen days the Libyan army has gone on the attack against the Islamists in the area, supported by the forces of former General Khalifa Haftar.


The fighting has hired planes and tanks of the army has deployed reinforcements with armored and artillery.


Dozens of people were trying to leave the city, obeying the call of the army to evacuate the port area.
