An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 shook the Moluccas islands in eastern Indonesian archipelago.
The tsunami alert was offset by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA). Earlier, the US Geological Survey (USGS) and warning tidal wave of Pacific Centre had announced a potentially hazardous tsunamis within 300 km of the epicenter.
