Ukraine before the cease-fire at midnight, violence redoubles

At midnight local time, the cease-fire to take effect. Yet in Ukraine, violence is increasing. A Artemivsk, a city controlled by the Ukrainian army to more than thirty kilometers from the front line, people live the horror of the bombing. Three people were killed here yesterday, including a child of 7 years.

For Friday alone, at least 28 people, including six civilians were killed.

The battles are intense around Debaltseve a railway junction connecting the two main rebel areas. The separatists attacked government forces who control the city. While the Minsk Agreement 2 was to silence the guns, Kiev expects an escalation.

"What are you talking about cease-fire? Said a woman in Donetsk. They want to get rid of us before 15 February. "

Hope for a cease-fire is low here in rebel areas, although the United Nations has announced that the Security Council will adopt a resolution supporting the future Minsk Agreement 2.
