Ukraine: a leading Maidan killed during a peaceful march


An explosion on the course of a

peaceful demonstration in Kharkiv two dead and a dozen injured. One of the leaders of the Maidan and a policeman were killed in the march commemorating the victims of Maidan there one year.

Kharkiv, 1.4 million people, is under control of Kiev, 200 km from the combat zone with the pro-Russian rebels.


The explosive device was hidden in the snow at the edge of Zhukov avenue where the tragedy took place. It contained metal pieces, and was activated by a timer or a remote control. Four suspects were arrested. According to the intelligence they received weapons and Russia instructions.
