Growing concern in Britain after the probable departure for Syria to three London teenagers.
Shamima Begum, 15, Kadiza Sultana, 17, and a third 15-year high school student, whose name was not disclosed at the request of the family, left London on Tuesday morning. They flew Turkish Airlines to Istanbul. The families reported them missing that night.
Richard Walton, of the British anti-terror police:
"We do not know what prompted their departure. We do not yet know if it's related to social networks or whether there was a meeting ici.La way in which women and girls are treated by the Islamic state is revolting. These girls are not safe in Syria. So if they are still in Istanbul there is a chance, a chance to bring them back, to save these children. "
The three teens might have followed the example of one of their friends, party, she joined the terrorist group in December. It may have also received funding to organize their travel and purchase airline tickets.
