Thousands of Muscovites took part in a ceremony at the civic center Sakharov museum devoted to human rights and the Soviet dissident academician.
Among them were family members surrounded the coffin as is the Orthodox tradition.
Anonymous and personalities came to bow and lay flowers including the widow of former President Boris Yeltsin Boris Nemtsov which was the former Deputy Prime Minister in the 90s.
Also present European and American ambassadors, but no high-ranking officials of the Russian power whose current Nemtsov was one of the most vocal opponents.
Other hand, have been prevented from attending the ceremony the President of the Polish Senate and a Latvian Euro-MP and opposition companions Nemtsov. The blogger Alexei Navalny now in prison, Garry Kasparov, the former chess champion and Mihkail Kodorkovski, both in exile.
After the official ceremony for the Sakharov Centre, Boris Nemtsov was to be buried in Moscow Cemetery Troïekourovskoïe.
This day of tribute comes four days after his murder. Friday night when he was with his little friend Anna Ukrainian Duritskaya, he was shot several times in the back on a bridge almost under the windows of the Kremlin, in one of the most secure areas of the Russian capital.
Investigators do not deviate , but the perpetrators of the murder remain at large.
