In Greece, Prokopis Pavlopoulos is the new president of the republic.
His election on Wednesday is not a surprise as it was a favorite of the election. He received 233 votes. He was needed 180 to win.
Conservative former minister Prokopis Pavlopoulos is 65 years. He succeeds Karolos Papoulias reached the end of his two terms.
The name of Prokopis Pavlopoulos had been advanced by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
For this election, Pavlopoulos was supported by the coalition of the radical left now in power and the party center-right New Democracy, the main opposition.
