At least seven people were killed Tuesday evening in a dramatic US train crash. It happened Tuesday night in the northern suburbs of New York at rush hour. A commuter train collided with a vehicle crossing the tracks.
The driver of the car was killed and six passengers on the train. Several people were also injured.
The Governor of the State of New York, Andrew Cuomo, went there. He paid tribute to the victims, citing "these people away from their homes this morning and will never return." "This should remind us how precious life is," he commented.
The clash between the train and the car caused an explosion and fire.
