Italy: death of a newborn over a longer journey to hospital


The Italians are in shock after the death this week of two babies, two cases where hospital services are criticized. One was 8 months. It was a girl. She died in Naples Friday, the day before she was out of the hospital where she was being treated for respiratory problems. The other baby, whose first name was revealed by the press, Nicole, was a newborn. She made her last breath in Catania, Sicily, in an ambulance. The vehicle was on a path to a hospital Ragusa 100 km from here, instead of fault in an intensive care unit in nearby locations. The baby was born in the Wednesday and Thursday night. Nicole had respiratory problems after the umbilical cord was cut.


The family lives a nightmare. Starting with the mother. "They did not let me see her, caress her, give her the first and last hello, she said on her Facebook page. "Our child is no rain, it is not due to natural causes, but human error, so many human errors.


The family claims truth and justice. Investigations were opened after the death of two babies.
