Italian police had arrested Monday fourteen alleged members of a neo-fascist group that planned attacks at Christmas. They would have planned to attack politicians and magistrates.
According to the daily La Repubblica, they also planned to blow up the headquarters of Equitalia, the agency in charge of tax collection and attack the railways. Their arrests were carried out in different parts of the country.
The anti-mafia prosecutor of L'Aquila, Fausto Cardella said at a press conference that the presence of undercover agents had a very important role in this investigation.
The group would be coming from the far-right organization banned "Ordine Nuovo", "New Order" founded in 1956 hoping to revive fascism in the country. Accused of being behind several attacks in the early 1970s, "Ordine Nuovo" was dissolved by the government in 1973.
