In Germany, the constitutional court in Karlsruhe must make public this Friday, a decision that removes the ban on headscarves for Muslim teachers.
The court had been asked by two women, working in schools and who want to wear a veil in the Land of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The ruling reaffirms the freedom of belief guaranteed by the Basic Law.
Unlike France, so there is no question in Germany to ban religious symbols. And therefore no question of banning the veil for teachers, unless it is a disturbance of school order.
This decision amends the judgment in 2003 by the same court, which had been seized at the time by a teacher of Afghan origin Fereshta Ludin.
Germany has about 4 million Muslims out of 80 million inhabitants.
