In Lahore, Pakistan, a double attack targeted two Christian churches, one Catholic, the other Protestant. The balance is at least fourteen dead and dozens injured. The attacks occurred almost simultaneously in a Christian neighborhood in Lahore. The faithful attended Mass when the bombs exploded, apparently triggered by suicide bombers.
The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the act, which has angered the Christian minority in Pakistan. In Karachi, the economic capital of the country, demonstrators blocked roads and burned tires in protest. They are calling for more protection. "We ask the government to protect all places of worship. Minorities are not safe in Pakistan, '' says the priest.
For several years, the Pakistani Taliban attacks increasing, particularly against religious minorities, including Christians, who represent about 2% of the population. In 2013, had 82 deaths.
