In Brazil, nearly fifty people, including eight children, were killed in a bus crash on a mountain road, at nightfall. The accident occurred near the town of Campo Alegre in the state of Santa Catarina.
For an unknown reason, the driver lost control of the bus that fell into a ravine. He finished his fall 400 meters down a forested area.
The hypothesis of a brake failure is advanced by the police to explain the tragedy.
