The celebration was cut short this weekend in Rosemont near Chicago in the United States. Due to a chlorine gas leak, thousands of people attending the Midwest Furfest convention were evacuated from the hotel which housed this gathering of fans of imaginary animals with human characteristics.
Twenty people were hospitalized.

According to police, chlorine powder was found in a stairwell on the ninth floor of the building. The incident was intentional and an investigation was opened, she added.
