A first jihadist judged by the German court, after France and Britain.
The Frankfurt court sentenced a young man to three years and nine months in prison for having joined the organization Islamic state in Syria. This young, 20 years old, was tried as a juvenile because of his lack of maturity, such as the German law allows for young adults. (This explains why his image is blurred.)
From July to December 2013, he joined Syria and EI, in particular to take part in fighting against the forces of President Bashar al-Assad. He was arrested on his return on German soil December 12, 2013.
According to the German Interior Ministry, about 550 Germans left join EI in Syria and Iraq.
This Friday, as two young British Muslims aged 22, described as fundamentalist destined to become martyrs, were sentenced to 12 years and eight months imprisonment firm after a few months in Syria.
Two other Britons, brothers, have already been sentenced to lighter sentences for having trained in Syria.
