In Kenya, the death of 36 workers killed by Somali Shebab has led to the dismissal of the interior minister and the head of the police. Mandera career employees were killed by Islamists linked to al Qaeda because they did not know to recite the Koran, others were missing.
Since October 2011, Kenya has deployed his army in neighboring Somalia to fight al-Shabaab.
"The obvious goal is to sow enmity and suspicion on ethnic and religious lines, and drive them non-Muslims in some parts of the country," said President Uhuru Kenyatta. "The ultimate goal of this atrocious campaign is to create an Islamic caliphate," he assured.
Islamists present themselves as the defenders of Muslims, a minority in Kenya.
They multiply attacks. The most spectacular is still that of a luxury shopping mall in September 2013.
Recently in the capital, hundreds of Kenyans protested against insecurity. Shabaab in Kenya killed more than 700 people.
