Terrorism: big scare in Madrid

False bomb threat in Spain, and a fully discharged Station. A man on a commuter train this morning threatened to blow himself up, another passenger then activated the alarm, causing the traffic stop and the evacuation of the Atocha station, the main of the Spanish capital.

The man, arrested, had in fact no bomb on him.

The traffic of trains and buses around the station was interrupted two hours. The anti-terror plan was initiated and then stopped.

In March 2004, Atocha and other Spanish stations had been the scene of Islamist attacks that killed 191 people in total.
