The cross Channel traffic resumes on Sunday after long hours of interruption. All Eurostar run, but with delays of up to an hour because only one of the two tunnels is on. Passenger traffic and freight traffic was suspended early Saturday afternoon. The reason: to smoke due to a fire in a shuttle carrying trucks. A thirty trains were canceled. Passengers traveling by car had to take their troubles patiently.
The incident forced the Eurostar to turn back to their home station and the 42 passengers in the truck shuttle were evacuated through the service tunnel and supported the French terminal.
