Two Turks were arrested this morning and ten searches were conducted "in eleven places of the Islamist movement" in Berlin, police said. She said 250 of its staff had been mobilized and that the operation had been held without incident.
The first person arrested is suspected of leading a group of Islamic extremists of Turkish or Russian nationals of Chechen and Dagestani origin, said the police.
The second person arrested was in charge of the group's finances. Three other members were not arrested because of the lack of charges against them said the prosecutor of Berlin.
