The two Italian aid young hostages in Syria have returned. Their plane landed at night at Ciampino military airport near Rome, from Turkey.
Greta Ramelli Marzullo and Vanessa were hosted by the Italian Foreign Minister, Paolo Gentiloni. Their relatives were not present on the tarmac. The two young women have made no statement.
Greta Ramelli, 20, and Vanessa Marzullo, 21, had left Syria on behalf of a small NGO specialized in the field of water and health. They had disappeared July 31 near Aleppo in northern Syria, without really knowing who had kidnapped.
Last month, they had appeared in a video asking the Italian government to release them.
We do not know the conditions of their release.
Some media claim that a large ransom was paid.
