The CIA denies. The director of the US intelligence agency spoke before the cameras after the report of a US Senate committee on methods of torture used by the CIA.

Dishonorable and inefficient methods, the report ... Answer John Brennan:

"The detention and interrogation program has produced valuable information that allowed the United States to thwart the plans, capture terrorists and save lives. (...) The relation of cause and effect between the use of enhanced interrogation techniques and helpful information given by a detainee is impossible for me to know. "

Faced with the outcry over the Senate report, John Brennan defended himself as he could, promising example that his agency had since been reformed.

"There was a time when CIA agents have exceeded the authorized instructions and technical and approved as legal. (...) Their actions have exceeded the limits during interrogation. They were tough, as I said, in some cases, I consider revolting and I will leave it to others to call them as they want. "

Obama himself has repeatedly condemned these interrogation techniques but this morning his spokesman reiterated that the president kept his entire confidence.
