Kiev has just received its first deliveries of Russian gas since June. This is the result of the payment of part of Ukrainian debts Moscow. Kiev paid just over € 1 billion to Russia in early November. The Ukrainian Naftogaz public group also paid 305 million euros for delivery ahead of nearly a billion cubic meters of gas.
Deliveries have stopped penant six months because Ukraine refused the price increase decided by the Russian giant Gazprom. An agreement was finally reached between Ukraine, Russia and the European Union, Europeans worried about their own supply passing through Russian territory.
According to Moscow, Kiev arrears amount to just over 4 billion euros.
