The Christmas tree cloned to best meet the expectations of Europeans

In Denmark, as elsewhere, choose a Christmas tree is an art.

It has become more than that. Science gets involved!

Large, green and shiny, that three criteria on which everyone agrees about. But the perfect tree actually differs from country to country as explained by this producer.

"The French want a rather small tree, as it will. The Dutch want a tree with space between the branches, that way they can put decorations between the two. "

For Russians, it is rather the height that matters according to the producer.

So how to create the perfect tree that will appeal to blows on to each and every one at once?

The University of Copenhagen is working hard trying to clone customized fir especially those that last the longest with their fragrance and all their needles!

And for Danes, "the tree must be green, completely symmetrical, beautiful and as environmentally friendly."

Largest exporter of Christmas trees in Europe, Denmark reigns on its domestic market.
