Somalia: new attack against the UN in Mogadishu

At least four people were killed this morning in an attack committed by a suicide bomber who launched a car bomb against a UN convoy near the airport in the Somali capital from AFP.

The Spanish news agency EFE speaks six victims and the British agency Reuters says that there are three dead, but no UN staff could hit.

The attack was not immediately claimed but the Shebab affiliated with Al Qaeda have stepped up deadly attacks guerrilla in Mogadishu and elsewhere in the country. This is their response after being driven out of the main cities of central and south by the force of the African Union which supports fragile Somali authorities.
