Philippines typhoon warning: the ongoing mass evacuations

Amid strong winds and heavy rains, millions of Filipinos continue to be urgently evacuated before the arrival of Typhoon Hagupit. These massive evacuations began yesterday, mainly in coastal areas. More than half a million people have already gathered in schools, churches, the strongest buildings in the villages.

The typhoon Hagupit expected landfall Saturday night on the island of Samar, it will sweep three days in the eastern Philippines.

"They told us that the waves would still be much larger, that is why I am concerned, the waves could become as big as last year in Tacloban."

In November 2013, the super typhoon Haiyan was razed entire towns as Tacloban and thrown millions of Filipinos in the streets. More than 7,300 people died. This year, the authorities want maximum saving lives. Everything has been planned, including emergency food aid.
