Orion returned safely to Earth to Mars can begin

Mission accomplished for Orion! American capsule returned to Earth after spending a few hours to almost 6000 kilometers of our planet. Launched in mid-day Cape Canaveral, Florida, Orion fell to Earth at over 32,000 km / h, before slowing down until his parachute open for a nice dip in the Pacific.

It was aboard Orion that astronauts will board a few years to prepare later to go to Mars.

The goal of this first mission was to test in real conditions the thermal resistance of the hull of Orion: In dropping that fast towards the Earth, the temperature of the shield is mounted to over 2,000 degrees.
