Nigeria attacks in Damaturu and Maiduguri

Nigeria knows no respite. Armed men suspected of belonging to the Boko Haram group burned Monday local police in Damaturu, capital of Yobe state, witnesses said. About 150 miles away, in Maiduguri, two bombs exploded in a market already targeted last week, according to witnesses.

On Friday, at least 120 people were killed in double suicide bombing followed by a shooting at the Great Mosque of Kano, the main northern city.

Boko Haram attacks and repression by security forces have claimed more than 13,000 lives since 2009.
