La Francophonie, an economic issue of weight for Africa

According to the latest report from the International Organisation of the Francophonie, 760 million people speak the language of Molière in 2060 against only 220 million today and 85% of these people will be here on the African continent .dropoff window The African continent will then become a place of economic exchange leading. So how already initiate strategies for these young people wear this emergence? This is the question that our special envoy Francois Chignac has naturally raised the political and economic leaders here in Dakar for 1st Economic Forum of the Francophonie.

According to the Senegalese President Macky Sall, the Francophonie is an "economic force", representing "16% of gross domestic product (GDP), 14% of natural resource reserves and 20% of world trade. But we should remember the poor quality of education in Africa that weakens the prospects for growth and efforts to make in terms of infrastructure.

"First it is not surprising that African youth have a thirst for knowledge that we prepare for them tomorrow. We now move on to a stage where everyone tries to become his own employer, because Africa believes exponentially both on the public that economic activities. So it is important to instill the entrepreneurial spirit among young people and this is not a task solely with the states, but it is a task for all of us because it is a cultural value " said Jean-Louis Ekra, CEO Afreximbank.

"The greatest potential of our regional area and especially our Francophone is young. Over 60% of young people under thirty. It is a rich, it becomes wealth when there is the appropriate skills training to enable everyone to participate in development. This is what happens when you set up the ingredients for its development are infrastructure, "said Jean-Jacques Bouya, minister of public works.

Another element to be optimized: banking and financial integration of Francophone countries. The banking rate is very low in Francophone African countries. It would, for example, create a college of French banking supervisors and a normative body of legal security.

"It is necessary that the states play their role, it is necessary that the policy also decides how to train, how to guide the youth in order to have a real dialogue between the young and the banking sector. Our generation, it's true, we accept to be Moses saw the Promised Land without success, it would be unacceptable for the next generation, our children will get to the promised land ", concludes Evelyne Tall African bank Ecobank network .dropoff window
