The residence of the Iranian ambassador to Yemen was targeted by a suicide car bomb this morning. The explosion caused at least one death, but the diplomat was not present there, and witnesses said a security source. The victim is one of the guards of the residence.
Al Qaeda is very active in Yemen, where he started fighting against Shiite militias, accused of being supported by Iran, which took power in September.
"The explosion was terrible, it shook the whole neighborhood, and most of the houses have all their windows broken," said one witness.

Al Qaeda has an Iranian diplomat who was kidnapped in July. And in early 2014, in January, another was shot dead as he was leaving the residence where the attack took place this morning.
