Hong Kong: is this the end of the revolt umbrellas?


The main camp of the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong is being evacuated. For 11 weeks, the demonstrators occupy the heart of the business district Admiralty to voice their desire for more democracy: they claim the return to universal suffrage since the reform of the summer. And occupy the nerve center of the Hong Kong business they seemed to be the way to achieve this. But traders and transport companies jointly went to court and it ruled earlier this week. The camp, whose heart has a nine-lane highway must be evacuated. Approximately 7,000 police were mobilized.

The protesters had an hour to clear the scene. This movement, called umbrellas revolution has already survived several evacuations, remains to be seen who will have the last word. Protesters vowed to return.
