France thirteen companies fined for price fixing


In France, the Competition Authority decided to heavy fines against several companies in the sectors of maintenance / hygiene beauty, accused of commercial agreement on prices between 2003 and 2006.


These fines, which totaled a record $ 950 million, are aimed at companies like American Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive, Henkel, Unliver or L'Oreal. They are accused of having secretly agreed on their respective prices, before negotiations with retailers. One method that has had an impact on consumers, denounces the Competition Authority.


L'Oreal, which gets the largest fine, refutes the accusations and announced his intention to appeal.
