Cuba: forty French tourists injured in a bus accident


The drama in the heart of the holidays.


Forty French tourists were injured yesterday in an accident involving a car in Cuba. The bus collided with another vehicle on a highway up to the town of Guayabito while tourists were returning from a trip to Santa Clara.


The bus was carrying "a group of forty retired French" most from Normandy by the Embassy of France. The mayor of Ouistreham said that "seven people were seriously injured with their life-threatened."


French Prime Minister Manuel Valls assured "their families that everything is done to ensure their care and repatriation in France," said a statement issued this morning by Matignon.
