Australia: eight children murdered in Cairns

Australia again in shock after the discovery of the bodies of eight children in a house in Manoora, a suburb of Cairns. They were discovered Friday late morning by their older brother.

Local media say that children aged 18 months to 15 years died from blows to the stabbing.

What appears to be a small family drama came three days after the bloody hostage-taking of Sydney. In a statement Prime Minister Tony Abbot denounced an "unspeakable crime" and called for "national communion."

The alleged mother of the children, aged thirty years, was seriously injured. Evacuated on a stretcher, she is in stable condition. She contributes to the survey reported the police. For now, no suspects have been formally identified.
