Yemen: despite an agreement, the Houthis have not withdrawn from key sectors of Sanaa


The crisis text concluded last night with President Hadi provided for immediate application, but the Shiite militia still quadrillait the capital this morning.


The houthie offensive Sanaa began last September and has since stopped noose tighten around the President Hadi after fighting with government troops were 35 dead and 94 wounded.


The agreement stipulated the withdrawal last night around the homes of the head of state and the prime minister and the release of Chief of Staff to the President. In return, the head of state has made significant concessions including the "possibility of amending" a draft constitution which provided for a federal structure far with six regions, rejected by the Houthis.


Main ally of Yemen particularly in the fight against Al Qaeda, Washington reaffirmed its support for President Hadi and denounced an "agreement under duress." An emissary of the UN was to preside this afternoon a meeting of the main Yemeni political factions.
