Violence continues in eastern Ukraine, and this time they struck the city of Mariupol. Bombing this morning in a residential area killed at least five dead and forty wounded.
Mariupol, the second largest city in the separatist region of Donetsk, is still controlled by the government of Kiev, who attributed the attack to the pro-Russian rebels, but they were immediately rejected any involvement. No military assault would otherwise be in progress, but it could be launched soon. Because the separatists have promised to conquer all the Donetsk region, this strategic port, which would allow them to establish a land bridge to the Crimea.
